Typically the wax I use to resist the glaze is clear which can make it difficult when brushing on the designs but with the help of crayola, I now have teal wax! It's such a help to be able to see what I have already drawn.
The Dirty Dozen group exhibition is all set up in the Lightwell Gallery this week! It features 12 ceramic students, 5 undergrads and 7 graduate students. One of my professors put me in charge of curating this show which has been a really good learning experience. In the end all turned out well and a sweet lady from the offices along with her husband found me in hopes to buy three of my pieces... so thankful for that!
I finally started spraying flashing slip before I bisque fire the pots. I cant believe I havent done this all along because it is so much easier when it come time to handle the pieces and dip in glaze buckets!
I have created this blog so that people can see more of the studio process.
